What are adult day care programs?
Adult day care programs provide care and supervision outside the home for adults with special needs. They offer a safe, secure place for older adults to spend the day. Programs provide activities and meals. Some offer healthcare and counseling, and some provide transportation to and from the center.
Adult day care gives breaks to family caregivers. This can be very helpful for caregivers who must work during the day. These programs also offer a way for people who live alone to spend some time with other people.

Who attends adult day care programs?
People who attend adult day care programs generally have some physical or mental challenge. Over half usually have some type of dementia (a loss of mental ability). Programs are often available to help people who have: Alzheimer's disease or other dementia, Parkinson's disease, stroke, developmental disabilities, visual problems and mental illness.
Our services are designed to assist with the personal care needs that are difficult for family caregivers to provide in order to allow you the most enjoyment out of your relationships with your loved ones.
The three most prevalent conditions of adult day center participants are dementia, hypertension, and physical disabilities. 70% of persons aged 65 and over will require some sort of long term care. By age 65, 10% of the population already has Alzheimer's disease or similar form of irreversible dementia. Taking measures to ensure safety at all times can help people with dementia feel relaxed and less over whelmed.

Why choose adult day care?
Most seniors strongly desire the comfort and familiarity of living in their own homes or with family, and this is a goal we fully support. But for many, living at home can also mean long hours spent alone, accompanied by poor eating habits, medication errors, difficulty with daily activities, declining memory, and loneliness. For family caregivers, whose own lives are pulling them in several directions, the outcome is often a constant state of anxiety about health and safety.
